Six currently recognized species and two new species are included in the Ommatius normus species-group: Ommatius castroi sp. nov. (Brazil-Amapa State); Ommatius trifidus sp. nov. (Brazil-Bahia State, Para State); Ommatius nebulosus Scarbrough, 2008; Ommatius neotropicus Curran, 1928; Ommatius normus Curran, 1928; Ommatius pulcher (Engel, 1885); Ommatius ruficaudus Curran, 1928; and Ommatius tepui Scarbrough, 2008. A revised key to the normus species-group and new geographical records are provided.
