摘要
This paper presents preliminary results of an investigation of noise and vibration issues in mechanical actuation gearshift cables. Developments of experimental and modelling techniques are described for this application, including Design of Experiments and Multibody Dynamics. The investigation is part of a larger plan to understand how cable design effects the NVH behaviour of a cable assembly experiencing real world vibration inputs. A Design of Experiments approach was used to initially evaluate cable design in relation to vibration and noise transmission. In these tests, noise measurements were made close to cables excited by an electromagnetic shaker at various key frequencies. Secondly, a numerical model based on ADAMS was developed to investigate practical design criteria for noise reduction. Some correlation was achieved between the numerical model and test results observed. The program of work is ongoing and further results will be published as the work develops. The paper will be of interest to automotive engineers and designers in OEMs involved in specifying actuation components and systems.
