摘要
The adsorption behaviors of ammonium from aqueous solutions onto red mud were investigated in a batch system. The adsorption equilibriums reached after 20 min and 45 min for ASRM and SRM, respectively. The kinetic studies showed that the adsorption process of ammonium on sintering process red mud (SRM) and the acid-activated SRM can be better explained by pseudo-second-order model. Freundlich model gave a better fit (R-2>0.99) that predicted some heterogeneity in the surface or pores of adsorbents have significant effect in the adsorption processes.
