摘要
A novel reconfigurable power amplifier structure for multi-band and multi-mode applications is presented. Included in the design are a reconfigurable output matching network and a reconfigurable die. To demonstrate the feasibility of the concept, a 900MHz/1.6GHz reconfigurable power amplifier with 33.8dBm/29.4dBm output power has been designed as a multi-chip module to validate the multi-band and multi-mode application. The new topology makes possible a 50% size reduction of the GaAs die and at least a 20% size reduction of the modules for two or more services. The topology is flexible and can be easily expanded to cover additional standards.
