Gendered language and the educational gender gap

摘要
Languages differ in the degree to which they employ gender distinctions for nouns and pronouns. Speaking a gendered language may highlight gender roles. We find that speaking a gendered language is associated with a greater gender gap in educational attainment. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
