摘要
In today's world the composite materials play a very prominent role due to its superior strength and their strength to weight ratio. The use of composites has been gradually increasing in many fields like industries, aerospace and automotiveetc., There is a drastic increase in the use of natural fiber composites in order to minimize the waste management. One of the main reasons for using this ipomoea staphylin fiber is that it is environmentally friendly and abundant renewable sources with short growth cycles. The composite made are recyclable and replaces many other synthetic based composites in various applications. This work aims to comprehensively deal with extraction of fiber from ipomoea staphylina plant treating with water and NaOH solution and dried fibres are reinforced with glass fiber in random fashion using suitable epoxy resin[LY 556] and Hardener [K6] and pressure is applied by fasteners to cure in compression moulding process. Later to study mechanical properties of obtained composites, various tests have been carried out such as Rockwell hardness test and impact test to obtain the fracture resistance of the specimen at higher deformation speeds.
