摘要
Heat Shock Protein 47 (HSP47) is a procollagen/collagen specific stress protein which belongs to the Serpin superfamily and which binds to procollagen/collagen in an unusual pH-dependent, ATP-independent manner. Here we show, by means of circular dichroism and fluorescence spectroscopy, that HSP47 undergoes reversible pH-induced conformational changes which could account for the pH-dependent binding behaviour.(1)
