Widely tunable optical parametric oscillators base on periodically poled MgO doped LiNbO3

摘要
This paper reports the fabrication of the periodically poled 6 mol % MgO doped LiNbO3 (PPMgLN) and the demonstrution of the PPMgLN-based optical parametric oscillators (OPOs). The PPMgLN wafer was fabricated by high voltage pulse trigged domain reversal technique with periods ranging from 27.8-31.6 mu m by a step of 0.2 mu m. The OPO has a wide spectral tuning range from 1.42-1.73 mu m (for the signal) and 2.76-4.27 mu m (for the idler) while the wavelength of the pump is 1.064 mu m. In the experiment, the output power of 4.8 W (the sum of the signal and the idler) was achieved when the input pumping power was 10.6 W and the slope efficiency was computed to be 47%.
