A three dimensional numerical model for the analysis of pipe flows with cavitation

摘要
To predict the mass flux of water near the saturation state through a pipe, possible cavitation or boiling phenomena must be taken into account. The first approach to model these phenomena is based on bubble dynamics according to Rayleigh-Plesset, the second on thermal equilibrium between the phases. The numerical results show the advantage of the thermal approach.
