摘要：

Under certain conditions, Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries can produce flammable and/or explosive atmospheres and pose related risks. Battery Energy Storage Systems are composed of large quantities of Li-ion batteries. This article uses basic concepts of combustion to describe the flammable hazards associated with BESS failures.
