摘要
The morphology of the ethylene-1-octene copolymer of ultra low density (UBDPE) original and with thermal treatment were studied using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Thermal treatment that was used consisted in carrying out melt isothermal crystallizations at 70 degrees C by 72 hours and then to cool slowly until ambient temperature. Thin sections for TEM were obtained after staining with chlorosulphonic acid and uranyl acetate solution. The results obtained by DSC evidenced the influence of the applied thermal treatment, being observed an increment in the endoterma of coalition of more temperature. The TEM micrographes revealed that the copolymer of ethylene-1-octene of ultra low density it is susceptible to the thermal treatment.
