摘要
This article discusses a corpus of public policies for books, reading ond libraries from the perspective of Santa Catarina legislation in the mid-20th century and a corpus of public policies under federal prescription in the early 21st century. From the Cultural History perspective, the sources of analysis are the Decree No. 3.735, of 1946, the National Plan for Books and Reading of 2006, and the Law No. 12.244 of 2010. The legislative corpus is assorted: the 1940's decree brings the book ond the library as a guideline, while the low of early 21st century shows the first legislation in favor of sch olar libraries as spaces that should be port of the schorr is structures under a librarian managing. The Plan legitimizes the reading activity and the scholor libraries as living organisms within the scope of school cultures.
