Effect of ferrocene/carbon ratio on the size and shape of carbon nanotubes and microspheres

摘要
Carbon nanotubes and microspheres have been synthesized in sealed tubes in the presence of ferrocene and anthracene. Small changes in the Fe/C ratio in the solid-state pyrolysis of ferrocene/anthracene mixtures give rise to different kinds and sizes of shaped carbon materials. The variation of reaction temperature also has an impact on the yields and properties of the products formed.
