This paper studies the dynamic responses of half-through-type arch bridges subjected to running trains and earthquakes. One scheme of a partially-concrete-filled steel box half-through-type arch bridge on the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway in design is selected as engineering background. By using the computer simulation method, the whole histories of the train running through the arch bridge during typical earthquakes are simulated and the dynamic responses of the bridge and the vehicles are calculated. The results show that seismic excitations have significant effects on the safety and the passenger comfort when the train vehicles running through the half-through-type arch bridge.
