摘要
The Core Alcohol and Drug Survey was used to compare the alcohol use patterns and the personal beliefs and expectancies about alcohol use of 385 fraternity and sorority members and 1,518 non-Greek-affiliated college students. The results show that college fraternity and sorority members reported using significantly higher levels of weekly and monthly alcohol use and a greater likelihood of using alcohol at private parties or at fraternity or sorority houses, than non-Greek students reported. Fraternity members reported higher levels of drinking than did sorority members. Multiple regressions reveal the importance of peer norms and perceived benefits of alcohol in predicting levels of alcohol consumption for fraternity and sorority members.
