A simple model of a spherical bubble rising through a layer of liquid with mass transfer of part, or all, of its contents is considered. The effects of the changing hydrostatic pressure, the material transfer and of surface tension are accounted for and the various types of behaviour exhibited in a phase plane of size and content.
