Application of a Computer-Assisted Learning System in College English

According to Chinese College English Curriculum Requirements, College English teaching should take advantage of computers and internet to cultivate students' independent and cooperative learning ability. This paper, based on foreign language learning and constructivism learning theory, made a research on autonomous and cooperative learning model, and designed a computer-assisted learning system with connection to College English teaching in order to create a new and efficient learning environment for students. The application of the computer-assisted autonomous and cooperative learning system is helpful in achieving better pedagogical effect through individual and cooperative learning.
