摘要
Fault detection and locating, as well as bad data detection are often processed in separate manners. In this paper it is proved that any internal fault on the transmission line is equivalent to multiple bad data. The conclusion applies to both single and multi section line models, as well as general power network. Subsequently the weighted least square absolute value algorithm (WLAV) is proposed as an ideal solution to identify the fault type and bad data simultaneously. The proposed algorithm generates residuals that allow the accurate computation of fault location. Simulation results prove that the proposed method can accurately detect and locate faults, independent of fault types, locations and impedances.
