摘要
This paper aims at offering an interpretation of the conditions, the meaning, and the projection of Max Aub's focus on the Spanish Republic and Civil War's memory. Echoing new trends within Aub's works, this paper delves further into a conceptual analysis regarding how the notions of trauma, melancholia and nostalgia engage with the Valencian writer's production. From this perspective, this paper argues that Aub's obsession with the past does not led to a barren anachronism, but to grounding upon which a critique towards the Spanish contemporary modernity.
