摘要
Development of structural damage assessment methods becomes an important theme for civil engineering systems. Through frequency sensitivity analysis, a frequency-change-ratio based damage parameter identification method has been put forward. This method uses only frequency measurement before and after damage occurred to locate the damage and quantify the severity of the damage. Numerical simulation with different cases including complete frequency measurement, incomplete frequency measurement and different measurement noise was conducted. A frame model was made and studied using vibration test. Numerical simulation and test results show that for shear-type buildings, damage degree and location can be calculated using frequency change ratio method from structural frequency measurement.
