THE SUPPORT OF REGIONAL RURAL DEVELOPMENT BY ACTIVIZATION OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT ON THE EXAMPLE OF VEL'KE TERIAKOVCE MUNICIPALITY

The paper deals with proposals of projects for regional development of the Vel'ke Teriakovce municipality based on the analysis of the potential of this area. The analysis involves the physical geographical and human geographical characteristics of the study area and getting familiar with the finished projects. The characteristics of the municipality was supplemented by the questionnaire survey which confirmed the possibility of the municipality development in the implementation of tourism. Therefore, we propose three smaller projects which would attract tourists into the municipality. The first project is a proposal of organizing the event called "Fasiangove hody" - Carnival Feast which aims to revive carnival customs and traditions. In the second project, we propose leaflets for the municipality with general-geographical information. In the third project, we developed two information boards which are to be placed in front of the municipal office and in front of the evangelic church aiming to raise awareness of the population of the municipality as well as to provide information on potential uses of the natural and cultural life in the Vel'ke Teriakovce municipality.
