摘要：

Barium sulfate forms a hard scale under weakly acidic to alkaline conditions. It has become a reasonably common problem in the chlorine dioxide stages of the bleach plant. Several process changes that can eliminate or reduce barium sulfate scale are presented. Some practical advice based on mill experiences was discussed.
