Automatic speech segmentation for an open vocabulary recognition system

摘要：
This paper presents a novel approach to automatic segmentation needed for a speaker dependent speech recognition system called open vocabulary recognition system. Such a system should be based on some kind of subword units, like traditional large vocabulary recognition systems. In our approach, subword units are separated in advance by an automatic segmentation method, making a fast and automatic training possible. The paper focuses on the operating principles of speech segmentation and shows some experimental results.
