摘要
A line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor (LSPMSM) is designed based on modifying the rotor of a 4kW commercial induction motor (IM). The designed LSPMSM provides a higher output power, efficiency and power factor as well as lower maximum operating temperature than the IM. Finite-element electromagnetic and thermal analyses are used to compare thermal behavior of the motors and verify the accuracy of the assumed temperature rise.
