Magneto-optical spectra of (Mn1-xMx)Pt3 (M = Fe, Co) ordered alloy films

摘要
The magnetic and magneto-optical properties have been investigated for pseudo-binary ordered (Mn1-xMx)Pt-3 (M = Fe, Co) alloy films. The Kerr spectrum of the MnPt3 film at 80 K has a large negative peak value of -1.3 degrees at 1.24 eV, and shows a small positive peak around 3 eV. In the case of (Mn1-xFex)Pt-3, the peak value at 1.24 eV decreases in magnitude and the position of this peak shifts towards lower-energy side with increasing Fe content x. Furthermore, another peak appears around 2.5 eV for x > 0.24. In (Mn1-xCox)Pt-3, the change in the spectral shape is quite similar to that of (Mn1-xFex)Pt-3, but additional peaks are not seen in the energy range of 2-3 eV. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
