摘要
Infectious disease coronavirus 2019 (COVID19) is a respiratory tract infection caused by a recent-onset coronavirus (2019 -nCoV) that was first recognized in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The genetic sequence of the virus suggests that it is a betacoronavirus, closely related to the SARS virus. The main objective of this study is to know the experiences of the nursing staff, in the Internal Medicine hospitalization units, in times of COVID-19, at the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Tenerife in order to find out strategic intervention measures that help cope with these situations in the event of a SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus outbreak. It is a qualitative research of a phenomenological type. It has been decided on this type of study due to the greater proximity to the reality experienced by the nursing staff as they are in the first line of care for patients infected by the virus. After the results obtained, the nursing staff agrees that when a situation of these characteristics, such as a pandemic, occurs to us at the beginning, there is confusion and disorder. The days go by and the protocols and circuits are established and the feeling of security during shifts is established. In conclusion, we consider it essential to maintain continuous training and psychological care for nursing personnel in pandemic situations; Since throughout this process, feelings and emotions intensify and many adverse circumstances occur that can make daily care practice difficult.
