Corrosion cracking susceptibility in Al-LiCu alloys 2090 and 2096 as a function of isothermal aging time

摘要
The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) susceptibility of two Al-Li-Cu alloys was investigated under various aging conditions. The SCC susceptibility were observed as a function of aging time, and intergranular/inter-subgranular in nature with extensive secondary cracking evident. Comparison of these trends to known or grain boundary micro-chemistry, microstructure and micro-precipitation developed during aging suggested two separate controlling metallurgical culprits for SCC susceptibility.
