摘要
International trade majors should master basic principles of international economy and trade and should have strong practical abilities, good communication skills, pioneering and innovative spirit and should be proficient in English. Traditional teaching methods cannot achieve these goals, which require us to design the teaching pattern of international trade on the basis of quality education. This paper begins with analyzing the existing problems of teaching methods of international trade in Chinese universities, and then puts forward some suggestions on the teaching content, teaching method, and teaching means of international trade major. The purpose of this paper is to propose some innovative teaching methods aimed at enhancing international trade students' quality and ability. At present, human society has entered the era of globalization, and the world economy is integrating in unprecedented breadth and depth. Enterprises in every country have equal access to the open world market, and the competition will become more and more intense. The core of competition in the 21st century is the competition for talents, high-quality economic and trade talents are crucial to maintaining competitiveness, opening up new markets and innovating trade patterns of a country. Since the economic reform, China has been continuously expanding extent of openness conforming to the trend of economic globalization. China was truly integrated into the global economy after joining the WTO in 2001. After years of development, foreign trade has become the most active and the fastest-growing segment of Chinese economy, and China has become one of the largest trading nations, China was ranked the largest exporter and the second largest importer of the world in two consecutive years. Therefore, the demand for talents of Chinese foreign trade industry is very strong. Under such circumstances, the Chinese universities must reform and innovate; they must train more and better foreign trade talents using scientific and appropriate teaching methods. We need to make international trade majors learn something useful and be of personal forte, so high-quality talents can work for our economic and trade development.
