摘要
Droughts in the last decade have taken a large scale due to climate changes. In this context Romania is affected by this natural phenomenon which causes a series of economic and social problems. The most affected area is Dabuleni situated in Oltenia Plain. In hydrogeological and pedoclimatic conditions, specific to the Danube River, there is a danger of secondary salinization of soil excluded from the flooding. The purpose of this study is to insure a model using GIS technologies to reduce the negative consequences of the drought and to propose redevelopment of irrigation and growing of drought resistant plant species. Such model is presented in form of five thematic maps which provides important information for the investigated area and it is a useful tool for risk assessment and early-warning.
