摘要
Signs of brain dysfunction detected only by neurosychometric and neurophysiological tests in patients with cirrhosis are commonly known as minimal hepatic encephalopathy. While plenty of tests have been widely used and validated through different studies, there is actually not a unique "gold standard" method for its diagnose. It is the most infraliagnosticated type of encephalopathy, the occurrence seems to be as high as 50% of cirrhotic patients. Despite its subtle nature, minimal hepatic encephalopathy can have a significant effect on a patient's daily living and it is also related to cirrhosis progression and decreased survival. We expose below some of the most common diagnostic strategies.
