摘要
There is a need for geotechnical investigations to start a civil engineering project. They provide the design parameters for a safe design on the existing soil. Finding the design parameters of soil in a laboratory is a time-consuming process. Geophysics helps in understanding the soil strata underneath non destructively. Electrical resistivity method is one of the better geophysical methods. Electrical resistivity of soil is a key to monitor the variation of soil properties (i.e. porosity, bulk density, degree of saturation). It helps in understanding the soil efficiently. Creating electrical mixing models for soil parameters identification is a better approach. The simplest electrical mixing model Archie's law used to find porosity of hydrocarbons at deeper locations beneath the earth surface. In this study, Modified Archie's law applied to the soil mass by estimating the resistivity of soil. An IoT based equipment fabricated to measure the resistivity of the soil mass. Observations indicate the usage of IoT based equipment's gives the real-time variation of soil resistivity as well as the design parameters of soil. IoT based equipment is a simple, compact and portable equipment. It assists to compare the soil properties in a real-time mode. The fabricated equipment improves the understanding of geotechnical engineers.
