摘要
IoT (Internet of Things), is a system of interconnected devices, objects, or people. It has an ability to transfer data over a heterogeneous network. 6LoWPAN standard is a Low power Wireless Personal Area Network using IPv6. Low Power and Lossy Network (LLN's) is the network formed by energy constrained devices. Routing protocol for LLN (RPL) is a distance vector routing protocol. Existing routing protocol limitations are not able to solve some of the issues such as energy consumption, stability, limited storage, etc. To overcome these issues Residual energy (RE) based RE-RPL technique is proposed. The combined metric concept is also focused here, which is a combination of RERPL and ETX (Expected Transmission Count). To improve the performance of the network energy thresholding is also applied. The network is analyzed on the basis of PDR (Packet Delivery Ratio) and Latency Delay using cooja simulator. Results show that the RE-RPL performs better than default RPL.
