The family Phytoseiidae (Acari) in western Washington State with descriptions of three new species

Collection records of phytoseiid mites from western Washington State are reported. Twenty-nine species were collected from 1986-1993. The known geographic ranges of ten species were substantially extended, including one species, Amblyseius graminis (Chant) collected for the first time in the Nearctic region. Three new species are described: Amblyseius crowleyi n. sp., Neoseiulus shanksi n. sp. and Proprioseiopsis antonellii n. sp.
