摘要
In 1925, Vladimir Mayakovski crossed the Atlantic. The ocean became his topothesia in his book My Discovery of America and in his poetic work The American Poems, especially in the poem entitled The Atlantic ocean. Thus, Mayakovski's poetic ocean embodies his promethean fantasy and the Russian revolution. It is also a symbolic bridge between his world and the American world of the United States. As a futurist, Mayakovski is fascinated by the American World. But as a Soviet poet, he hates it. From then on, he will dream of an ideal future which would be, according to him, an alloy between these two opposite worlds. Our paper focusses on this poetic reflection.
