摘要
The expression "logic of the heart" plays a decisive part in the relation between heart and reason. Coined in the 18th century by "Romantics", who nevertheless took it for absurd, it was then rejected in the 19th c. by "Rationalists" arguing that the heart could not abide by logic. It gained true meaning in the 20th c. thanks to Max Scheler's phenomenology. By - wrongly - attributing it to Pascal, he gave serious consideration to the word "logic" (order and laws). Although non pascalian, this expression allows a whole new understanding of Pascal's thinking, and unveils three dimensions: the correlation between reasons of the heart and feelings, the heart's original hierarchy, and the necessary formation of the heart.
