摘要
In this paper we present the most recent simulation environment for navigation under development in our department. A partial variant of this environment is in use since the summer of 1996 at ICEPRONAV Galati - one of the most important ship designers in Romania. The aim of the Environment for Navigation Modeling acid Maneuver Simulation is to help navigation designers and scientific researchers to develop new mathematical models for ship dynamic; to estimate a ship behavior before actually building it; to estimate the effect of different ship modules on it's dynamic for optimizing their characteristics; to optimize navigation maneuvers. It was designed with several bearings in mind, so that to obtain a high performance per cost ratio. The solutions applied at this version are completely original and some of them involve new patents. An improvement of this simulator is under study.
