A NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS EUMERUS MEIGEN 1822 (DIPTERA, SYRPHIDAE) FROM THE HIGH MOUNTAINS OF TAJIKISTAN

A new fly species, Eumerus muratovi Barkalov sp. n., is described from the high mountains of the Pamirs, Tajikistan. The species belongs to the species group showing yellow spots on tergites II-III of the abdomen, dichoptic eyes in the male, and black antennae. The new species differs from all known congeners by the mostly black abdomen, the comparatively long body pilosity, and the conformation of the male genitalia. The description is accompanied by line drawings of the abdomen, an antenna, a wing and the male genitalia, as well as by pictures of the holotype. A comparison with particularly similar species is provided.
