摘要
Built environment characteristics may facilitate or discourage leisure activities considered favorable from a health viewpoint. A poor built environment induces social isolation and many years of research have proven that social isolation negatively influences health outcomes and disease management. On the other hand, several evidence associated participation to cultural and social activities with increased well-being, perceived health and life expectation. Here we investigated the relation between subjective well-being and participation to cultural and social activities in a sample of residents in the metropolitan area of the city of Naples. Our results indicate that participation increases subjective well-being in the sample population analyzed.
