摘要
Although originally designed for the military, the Global Positioning System (GPS) has proven invaluable in a wide variety of civilian applications. This paper describes the design of a portable GPS receiver for use in numerous emerging applications such as cellular phones that integrate GPS to comply with the FTC's enhanced 911 mandate, personal locator systems for the elderly and children, and personal navigation systems. The focus of the GPS receiver design is on achieving Tow-power consumption and high level of integration, which are important design goals in a portable system.
