Investigation of the structural, photocatalytic and magnetic properties of MgAl2O4/NiTiO3 nanocomposite synthesized via sol-gel method

摘要:
In the area of water purification, nanotechnology offers the possibility of an efficient removal of pollutants and germs. Nowadays, nanostructures used for detection and removal of chemical and biological substances include metals, azo dyes, nutrients, cyanide, organics, algae, bacteria, parasites, and etc. At present work, MgAl2O4/NiTiO3 nanocomposite is applied for removal of MeO dyes from water. MgAl2O4/NiTiO3 nanocomposite is synthesized via sol-gel method presence of different surfactants such as cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) Synthesized MgAl2O4/NiTiO3 nanocomposite is characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), vibrating sample magnetometers (VSM) diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX). Prepared nanocomposite shows excellent photo degradation behavior toward MeO under UV light. Photo degradation efficiency is calculated 84% for MeO.
