摘要
This research aims to analyse the main aspects of the conflict between technological development and the limits of privacy, based on the analysis of the film The Circle (2017). For that, an observational study was carried out using the methodology of film analysis. In terms of results, the impact of technologies such as wearables and face recognition on the privacy of individuals who are exposed to them are highlighted. Such consequences are triggered by violations of individuals' informational privacy, whether on a voluntary basis, when individuals do not understand the risk they are subjecting to, or in an unauthorized manner, when an institution with power uses the circumstances to watch and collect personal data from members of the community in which it operates. Through these results, the study concludes that the conflicts are represented in the movie through characters that defend new technologies and characters that bring awareness about its dangers against privacy and that the dynamics of information violation occurs through various manners, which could or could not be voluntary. Thus, it confirms the movie use as a study object
