The localization of animal productions, of activities and factories in the animal food chains is now a question of great acuteness, related to the lack of employments and the new context of international trade. It clearly appears necessary to re-analyze the determinants of the localizations of productions, of livestock farming systems... and to try to identify the reasons which might lead them to change their locations. This work is difficult. This problems are complex, and need to be considered at different scales, with micro and macro-economical approaches. The concept of geostrategy for animal productions and animal food chains is proposed. It aims at focusing the approaches which are available, and it takes into account the active behaviour of the economical agents. Some examples of factors which influence the localizations are given.
