摘要
This paper presents antenna designs to enhance the performance and electromagnetic susceptibility of the UHF radio frequency identification (RFID) tag on vehicles for Electronic Toll Collections (ETC). By adjusting the radiation pattern of the tag antenna upwards and selecting proper installation environments for tag durability, better performance for the ETC can be achieved. To validate those designs, RFID measurements in the field test site of Telecom Technology Center are performed. The results reveal that the proposed tag antennas may effectively improve the detection rate and read range of the RFID system for the ETC and also reduce electromagnetic interferences from nearby mobile base stations.
