Magnetic resonance imaging is a valuable modality of extreme flexibility for specific problem-solving capability in the thorax. This article reviews MX applications in the imaging of great vessels, which are currently the most important applications in the thorax; other established applications in the thorax; and pulmonary functional MR imaging.
