Spanish Think Tanks during Periods of Crisis and Economic Recovery: An Analysis of Media Concentration

摘要
Spanish think tanks have played an important role in the discourses that the media spread, shaping public opinion regarding issues related to the economic situation of the country. This study explores the media representation of Spanish think tanks from a quantitative perspective. In addition, their concentration within national media and news agencies during the 2009-2018 decade is analysed. A comparative analysis of the periods 2009-2013 and 2014-2018 is made. To complete this research, a quantitative analysis of the contents published on 62 Spanish think tanks was carried out. The results suggest that the representation of think tanks in the media has gradually increased over the years, independent of the economic cycle.
