摘要
In this study, a series of laboratory experiments are conducted to analyze run-up heights of solitary waves acting on various beach slopes. The run-up heights of solitary waves generated by a piston-type wave maker are investigated in non-breaking conditions. In consideration of practical maximum wave heights for capability of wave maker, the water depth changes 0.2 m to 0.4 m to set up the solitary waves with relative heights normalized by the water depth 0.2 to 0.4 for propagating enough distance to impermeable beach slopes without transformations. For measuring run-up heights and wave pressure, wave gages and pressure gages are installed parallel to and at intervals of 0.1 m on impermeable beach slopes. The wave gages installed in parallel to beach slopes can measure run-up. The run-up heights and pressure of solitary waves are comparable results with previous researches. The measured maximum run-up heights will be compared to those of available formulas.
