We fabricated a +3.3V single low-power CMOS limiting amplifier including. the automatic threshold control (ATC) circuit with wide input range for asynchronous transfer mode-passive optical network (ATM-PON) system. The architecture of the limiting amplifier is the multistage feedforward type for highspeed response. Use of the ATC circuit in this work can eliminate DC offset due to devices and layout mismatch. This amplifier is fabricated in a standard +3.3V 0.35 mum CMOS technology and consumes 80mW. Overall gain is over 30dB to achieve the constant output voltage swing (200mVp-p). The chip size is 1.4 x 1.2mm(2).
