A Reiterative Superresolution Approach for Direction of Arrival Estimation with Sparse Arrays

摘要
In this work we present two DOA estimation approaches applied to the difference coarray (virtual array) of a nested linear array based on the reiterative superresolution (RISR) approach. The first augments RISR with a gain control technique to enhance stability with noisy virtual array data. The second is based on using RISR to estimate the virtual measurement covariance matrix with a subsequent application of the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) technique. Simulation results are presented to assess the two proposed techniques against a more established spatial smoothing MUSIC technique.
