Adsorption equilibria of CH4, H2S and gas mixtures H2S / CH4 with initial concentrations y(H2S) = 10 %(mole), before adsorption, on activated carbon (AC) Norit R1 have been measured in the pressure range 0 less than or equal to p less than or equal to 1,5 MPa at temperature T = 298 K. Both the volumetric and the gravimetric method have been used. They can be combined to the so-called volume-gravimetric method tl], allowing to measure binary coadsorption equilibria without concentration measurements in neither the adsorbate nor the adsorptive. Gravimetric measurements have been performed using a microbalance outside the aggressive gas atmosphere and a magnetic coupling device build by Rubotherm, Bochum Germany [2, 3]. The method of measurement is outlined and data are reported and discussed to certain extend.
