摘要
Task complexity is a measure of how demanding a task is and often identified with unanticipated interactions between a user and system. A novel application of the complexity measurement for human systems integration is presented and demonstrated through the complexity evaluation of a military communication system interface. A comprehensive task complexity measurement framework is presented which besides being easily implementable, evaluates system complexity from the perspectives of different sets of users and is applicable in different contexts. A set of standard task contexts are established for each context, then objective and subjective task complexities are measured for the particular context. The set of complexity measures can be used to assess the impact of changes in system design from the human performance perspective.
